Murphy Aficionado, a former employee of Kanye West’s Yeezy, is suing the rapper, who has legally changed his name to Ye, and his businesses, Donda Academy and Yeezy LLC.

In addition to pursuing a jury trial, he has lodged twelve complaints against West, alleging retribution, harassment, and discrimination.
Aficionado, who spent nine months working as a project manager for West’s brand Yeezy, alleged in the complaint that was able to get that he was “unlawfully terminated” and that he was not paid for his labor. PEOPLE’s request for comment was not immediately answered by a representative for West.
He claimed that West would say things like “the Jews got [ex-wife] Kim [Kardashian] and my kids,” which are antisemitic remarks. According to reports, West instructed Aficionado to get rid of his “ugly” traditional Filipino tattoos, known as “Batok,” and made disparaging remarks about his Filipino heritage.
Additionally, West allegedly asked Aficionado to visit his hotel room, where he had sex with Bianca Censori, his then-girlfriend.
According to the lawsuit, Aficionado says he started working for West in October 2022, putting in between 50 and 70 hours a week, and “on several occasions even slept at the office.” West then allegedly gave Aficionado instructions “to relocate [West’s] school, Donda Academy” in February 2023.
A spokesman of Donda Academy stated in July 2023 that the school “would no longer be in operation.” His Yeezy assignments “were revoked, and he was no longer welcome in the offices,” according to Aficionado shortly after.
The case alleges that Aficionado was subjected to economic losses, non-economic damages, punitive damages, oppression, fraud, attorneys’ fees, and the exhaustion of administrative remedies as a result of the termination.
Furthermore, “Defendants violated these laws by failing to pay penalties, including additional wages, interest, and fees, and by failing to provide plaintiff’s last paycheck promptly.”
According to Aficionado, West “began to make his proud bigotry and antisemitism well-known” and “preached this dogma almost daily” after starting his job “almost immediately.”
The rapper also mentioned the Filipino customs of Aficionado. West “told [Aficionado] that his tattoos were unsightly and ought to be taken off while pointing at them.”
Aficionado further claims that he was “summoned” to a “work meeting” in West’s room at the Beverly Hills Waldorf Astoria in November 2022. As soon as he got there, “Aficionado realized right away that Censori and Ye were having sex very recently.” It is then said that West “commanded Aficionado to come in and sit down” in the hotel room.
Aficionado claims that as Censori tried to shut the door of the adjacent bedroom, “Ye reopened the closed door fully exposing Censori’s nude breasts.” After that, West allegedly “asked Aficionado what he thought about Candace Owens’ recently departing lawyer.”
