When John Ramsey Discovered His Daughter Jonbenét’s Body, He Explained Why He Didn’t Cry.

John Ramsey talks candidly about his feelings on December 26, 1996, the day he discovered his 6-year-old daughter JonBenét Ramsey’s death in the family’s Boulder, Colorado, basement.

When John’s wife Patsy noticed their daughter was missing earlier that morning, she alerted the police. Patsy, who has since passed away, urgently disclosed during the call that she had found a scary ransom note demanding $118,000 in exchange for JonBenét’s safe return.

It was discovered that JonBenét had been sexually abused and strangled at their house after John discovered her body. A garrote was wrapped over the young beauty pageant queen’s neck, and duct tape was placed over her lips.

Ramsey feels that the parents’ early emotions led to their rapid suspicion after her death was declared a homicide.

There have never been any charges against any Ramsey family members in relation to JonBenét’s murder. In 2006, Patsy passed away.

The matter is still unresolved nearly thirty years later. In order to “put pressure” on authorities to use genetic genealogy and DNA technological advancements to apprehend JonBenet’s killer, Ramsey hopes to inspire someone to come forward with fresh information today.
