A straight shot is Cole Hauser. Not literally, as in his sulky, gun-wielding role as Rip Wheeler, the ranchman/henchman on Yellowstone. However, the actor does have a swagger and no-BS style of speaking.
Details on Cole Hauser of “Yellowstone” Offers a Sneak Peek
The actor doesn’t hold back when questioned about his early hopes for the series.
Television’s top show is Cole Hauser Yellowstone, which on Nov. 10 begins the second half of its final season on the Paramount Network. Even its reruns on CBS last year attracted about 7 million people each week, and its most recent season debut in November 2022 got over 16 million viewers.
And despite not being a blood relative, the stoic and valiant Rip is the main character. The power-hungry and backstabbing Duttons probably would have lost their ranch long ago if it weren’t for Rip. Additionally, he is the focal point of the most intense and captivating romance in the series. Despite an assassination attempt in the third season, the romance between Rip and fiery Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) has managed to endure. Although this chapter of Yellowstone is coming to an end, the two must continue, right?
Since the early 1990s, Hauser, 49, has been employed consistently. In 1992’s School Ties, he played the morally upright prep school student against other rising stars Chris O’Donnell, Brendan Fraser, Matt Damon, and Ben Affleck.
His mother, Cass Warner, was a third-generation filmmaker with extensive Hollywood connections, and his father, Wings Hauser, is a character actor. The two separated when he was a young boy. Hauser, however, wasn’t a Hollywood baby. He was raised in Santa Barbara, California, Florida, and Oregon. He has been living on a peninsula in Martin County, Florida, with his wife of 17 years, Cynthia Daniel, a former adolescent actress, for the past few years. They have kept their three children, Ryland, 20, Colt, 16, and Steely Rose, 11, out of the public eye.
In reality, Cole Hauser is taking a break from hurricane recovery to get on this Zoom interview on a balmy October Monday afternoon. He reveals that recent tornadoes had a severe impact on his community.
What about Beth and Rip in particular?
You can see that Rip is always there for her. There has been a significant loss [Kevin Costner, who plays John Dutton, the father of the family, is not coming back this season]. As the husband and friend he is to her, along with the guy he is, Rip is always there to encourage her and does his best to assist her.
