Emma Heming’s love and honor for husband Bruce Willis
Since being diagnosed with aphasia and then frontotemporal dementia, the Die Hard actor has withdrawn from the spotlight and retired from performing; yet, his wife frequently surprises fans with heartfelt tributes to him or cute old movies and pictures.
Evelyn Penn, the ten-year-old youngest of the Bruce Willis ladies, is featured in the most recent one, which is no exception. Along with the preteen, Bruce is also the father of Mabel, his first daughter with Emma Heming, Rumer, 36, Scout, 32, and Tallulah, 30, whom he shares with his ex-wife and close friend Demi Moore.
Emma Heming recently talked to Town & Country about how she has been handling the past few years and how she has dealt with telling their girls of Bruce’s illness. “I’m trying to find that balance between the grief and the sadness that I feel, which can just crack open at any given moment, and finding joy,” she said.
And while the diagnosis was devastating to get, she added: “This disease is misdiagnosed, it’s missed, it’s misunderstood, so finally getting to a diagnosis was key so that I could learn what frontotemporal dementia is and I could educate our children.”
“They’ve watched Bruce Willis’s health deteriorate over time. She went on to say, “I’m not trying to protect them from it. Our therapist taught me that if kids ask questions, they’re ready to know the answer.
